Interning at RANZCR has been a valuable experience that has exposed me to the fast-paced world of talent acquisition and HR technology. Over the past few months, I've had the chance to contribute to meaningful projects while learning about the critical role that effective people management plays in a successful organization. One of the highlights of my internship has been attending conferences at the ICU building. These events have allowed me to immerse myself in the global business landscape and gain insight into the broader challenges that organizations face in today’s competitive environment. It’s been inspiring to hear from industry leaders and see firsthand how large-scale healthcare organizations like RANZCR navigate these challenges.

On a more technical note, I have worked extensively with ELMO, the HR software platform used by our People and Culture team. My work has included supporting the onboarding and transitional workflows for new employees. This hands-on experience has given me a better understanding of how large organizations manage the complex process of bringing new team members on board. I’ve been able to see how critical it is to have streamlined processes in place to ensure a positive employee experience from day one.

I’ve also had the opportunity to create practical guides for hiring managers. These resources are designed to assist them through the hiring process, covering everything from conducting interviews to building a strong team culture. Developing these guides has been a rewarding challenge, as it has required me to consider both the operational side of HR and the human side of building effective teams.

Additionally, I’ve been involved in meetings focused on the rollout of LinkedIn Recruiter, a tool our company recently invested in to enhance its talent acquisition strategy. I’m currently in the process of learning this software, which will allow us to expand our recruitment portfolio and more effectively identify top talent in our field. Understanding this technology is crucial for supporting our broader hiring goals and ensuring we stay competitive in attracting high-quality candidates.

Overall, my internship at RANZCR has been an excellent opportunity to build my skills in talent acquisition, HR technology, and people management. It has given me a clearer picture of the strategic work that goes into building and supporting a successful team. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this field as I take on new projects and challenges in the months ahead. Looking forward, I hope to further expand my skills in both the technical and interpersonal aspects of HR, gaining a deeper understanding of what it takes to connect talented individuals with the right opportunities.
